Is nearby a cheaper alternative to Car Hire company's CDW insurance?

I've arranged car rental for forthcoming trip to Canada. The car hire company's Damge Waiver day after day cost is expensive. Can I get cheaper, equivalent cover elsewhere? Thanks.
Answers:
The preceding answer about your own coup¨¦ insurance is almost right - it is essential that you verify ahead of time that your own insurance covers the hired car in another country.

If not, it is usually cheaper if your own delivery service will add that coverage to your current policy if it is available even though there is a premium increase. You can other delete the coverage when you return.

Make sure you take your proof of insurance with you.

Enjoy your trip!
Use your vehicle insurance - it will cost you only if the rental car company files a claim to repair fluke damage. Otherwise, the out of pocket cost is zero.
