A query to guess almost: Why can't you, or anyone else, start an insurance company and newly variety billions?

That seems to be the modern liberal train of thought revolving this issue: CEO's are hording profits and all (I'm sure you've hear it before).

But take a step back, Why can't anyone simply then start an insurance company and make billions of dollars resembling all the other big boys?

Why is it so hard for insurance companies to in reality start and compute? From my understanding, here's a hint: Government.
Answers:
Great theory, can you loan me $1,000,000,000?
I'm already a greedy, heartless jerk!
Well government and tons of brass. Source(s): It takes tons of cash to start an insurance company.
Anyone CAN. That's the beuaty of the "free market". I thought as a conservative, you would sanction and celebrate that.

The problem lies in getting customers. The current system works against any individual who wishes to open that kind of business. It take millions of dollars in "start-up" costs; so that pretty much excludes any "common" person.

It's not the "government" that the character would have to worry give or take a few. It's the established companies' lobbiests and lawyers, who would prevent any competition.
