2. Making a profit at the cost of somebodies life

The fact is they stipulation to do both.
If they only collected money and didn't do anything for their customers they would be out of business because no one would buy their policies.
Alternatively if they rewarded fo every conceivable procedure, treatment or remedy they would go broke and neither the shareholders or the policyholders would be served.
I'm no fan of insurance companies, but I do think through that they walk a fine line.
Making a profit by providing services that save men, women & children.
As a phone to reason -- if you don't want health INSURANCE, you don't hold to get it, simply pay cost at the hospital.
