Does a saloon insurance company own to write a check to me or can they build giving directly to the body shop?
My car was contained by a wreck and the other driver was at fault. The claim be filed through the at-fault driver's insurance company. They sent an adjuster to assess the damage of my vehicle today and he said they will distribute me a copy of the adjustment that I would then take to a body shop to own the repairs done. It is my understanding that the insurance company would assess the damage and write a check directly to me.
I enjoy an estimate for around $3,000 which is why they sent an adjuster out in the first place. Apparently this was more than the amount she be able to authorize.
This insurance company has be very difficult to deal near so far and I would prefer payment made directly to me just to own the ordeal over with. Is this an option I own?
Depends on the company some pay the insured some will pay the shop - you requirement to ask what your ins companies procedures are. No, it is not up to you.
If within is a lien holder, who is named as loss payee on your insurance, that entity will have final vote and does have a vested interest in seeing the vehicle repaired.
If you own it outright, the check will be made directly to you and you can use the money to do anything you would resembling to do
"> If your insurance company was paying for the damage they would build out the check to you and the body shop or you and the bank.
But, since the other parties company is paying, the check should be made out to you and sent directly to you unless you ask that it be sent to the body shop.
