I drive a honda accord...currently is white...but i want to paint it black...and someone told me that i have to inform my insurance company...is this true?...

I don't reflect on it matters to your insurance company, but to DMV it does. The license plate is registered to a white accord, not black. Plus the title say white not black.

No. Put polka dots on it if you want to. The insurance company won't care, and they don't even ask the color of your vehicle.
The COLOR of paint doesn't matter - ATTITUDE matters.
Just don't paint it black and start terrorizing the streets by race like a lot of Honda Accord owners do........
If you wreck, don't suggest that the insurance company is going to pay for CUSTOM PAINT unless they have be notified.
