Cash reimbursement from insurance company instead of repairs?

Hello:

My car was surrounded by an accident recently (it be rear-ended at a traffic light) & suffered minor body damage.

I wanted to know if it is possible to ask the insurance company (Farmers) for a brass reimbursement instead of having them pay for the repairs.

Yes, if you get estaments' bring the two highest to you insurance co. The check will be cut to you. If the car is totaled ( more wounded than the blue book value) you will receive that amount. The insurance Co. does not care what you do with the money, or motor.
You can ask but that doesn't mean you will find it.
If Farmer's is the at-fault carrier's insurer, next yes, ask them to send you the check directly. You can do what ever you want with the check.

If you are making a claim against your own coverage and you hold a lien, the check will need to be made out to you and your lien holder. If you do not have a lien, the check can be made payable to you. However, if your vehicle is involved within another accident, you will not be paid again. If your vehicle is totaled, the amount rewarded for this loss will be deducted. Source(s): Claims - 21 years.
If you are getting reimbursed by the other party's insurance (which it sounds like you should be considering you be rear ended) then they will issue you a check. They don't thoroughness if you get your car fixed or not.

If the check is coming from your own insurance company afterwards the check will usually be made out to both you and the body shop. They wan your car fixed.
yes. they will pay you directly Source(s): claims
