Is here any style around the "Birthday Rule" the insurance companies use to determine primary coverage?

The birthday rule is used to determine which plan is primary and which is secondary. Under this rule, the plan of the parent whose birthday occurs first contained by the calendar year is designated as primary. The date of birth is the determining factor-not the year-so it doesn't matter which spouse is older.

I have never hear of this, we run both peoples credit and whichever ones is better we use them. The credit score does affect the premium. Source(s): Farmers Ins Texas
The way around it, is to drop the individual off of the coverage that you don't want them on - so there ISN'T any lesser coverage. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
This is interesting, I've never hear of this and have worked in insurance for 10 years very soon. What state are you in?
The lone way around it is to drop you from the policy you don't want as primary, leaving you near just the other as primary.
This has been within effect for many, many years.
It's the month and daylight of birth, the year doesn't matter.
There is no way around it.
