When injured at work, shouldn't the company pick up the portion one pays from paycheck for insurance?

I was injured at work, and have be on disability for the past year now. Shouldn't the company pick up the portion that I salaried from my bi-weekly paycheck for my health insurance? The Company is now relating me I’m still responsible for paying them my portion that would be deducted from my paycheck so that my health insurance can be kept helpful (My disability check is small, and they expect me to still pay my portion from there)? Is this company cheap? Is this right/wrong? Should I get a attorney?

Nope, I was on comp for almost an entire year, lost the insurance for that time period but as soon as I started rear at work the insurance was re-instated.
Unfortunately what they are doing is legal ... it's of late crappy. I mean of course it would be the right piece for them to pay your portion - but are they going to? No. Because legally they don't own to - and they know they can force you into it. I would just really try and budget and pay that insurance cost - because if you consent to it lapse that would be even worse. Sorry you're going through this. You can always consult a lawyer and see what they enunciate - but that will be at so much time and cost to you that it might not be worth it.
