I don't think the insurance will cover it. This type of damage is usually covered by a home warranty policy. Homeowners insurance pays for pull done by Mother Nature such as wind and hail deface. It also usually covers people hurt while on your property such as falls and slipping. There is a difference between Homeowners and Maintenance insurance.
I advise you to weigh the potential future costs highly carefully. Homeowner's Insurance companies often drop customers who've made claims and they also tilt premiums which will end up costing you more in the long run. If I be you, I'd check my insurance policy very carefully and see what my deductible is. Sometimes the deductible is more than the repair costs and it would be better to not inform your insurance company and engender the repairs on your own so that your premiums won't increase.
The question you are going to own to ask yourself is it cheaper to pay the deductable or cheaper to pay the repair costs.

From your information I would articulate paying for the repairs yourself would be way cheaper than making a claim.
I thought homeowners insurance should only be used contained by extreme circumstances, like a house fire, tornado, etc. We replaced our roof last year for $9500 and would not own considered using insurance for it. If you file too many minor claims your insurer could drop you, or lift your rates by 100% or more.** For another example, would you use your car insurance policy if you need trial tires or a battery? No. If you could use Homeowner's insurance to pay for repairs consequently everyone would buy fixer upper houses and have the insurance pay for adjectives repairs, it does not make sense!
Yes, it would be covered by homeowners. Check your deductible and then call the claim into your homeowners. They will dispatch out an adjuster.
Is this a new house....usually you will own a 10 year warranty. Check your warranty book and see if this will be covered under the warranty before exploring other option.
