Are sheds covered on house insurance if they are worn out within a storm?

My insurance states that only the contents are covered, but my friend reckons that she will receive a payout if her shed is demolished in a storm. Does anyone else have this covered on their insurance, if so, who are you insured near??

If you phone around, you can ask the berk on the phone to read the relavant section of the policy booklet. Try Norwich Union first. Source(s): Previous job
Mine are
Home and outbuildings is how it read
If she has home policy and it covers her home and other buildings she maybe competent to claim. Have her check with the company but with her deductable it may not be worth it. You nouns like your insurance is for a rental space as it is for contents only.
You could find that your property building insurance will cover your shed. Our greenhouse be demolished in a recent storm and was replaced below the building insurance policy.
no i dont think so
no because its an stroke of god
You can only claim on the insurance for a shed or similar if you are insured for OUT BUILDINGS. This is usually included in House Insurance, not contents.
Probably not unless it was planned on the policy, depends on their coverage. It may not be worth it anyway as most sheds are fairly inexpensive and they may only take a small portion of the cost after the deductible. Then when its time to renew the policy the insurer will look at that claim when determining their rates.
All policies are different for respectively customer. You tell the insurer what you want covered, and then trademark sure he shows you it in the policy. This is the ONLY way to be sure.
Some do cover the shed and its contents. Our outdated one did.

My current one doesn't, but thats because we've got lots of barns so all outbuildings are excluded because they are a bit ropy.
some insurers do some dont shop around
im not sure i dont enjoy a garden shed but i think my dads green house was covered beneath his home insurance and i know my fence was when it be blown to bits by the wind so you should check your policy.
you have to insure them seperately, check your policy or call your ins company
