Hi!

I have a feeling forums are the best places to get your queries resolved. Don't you feel so!
Otherwise, in today's world its too tough to get exemplary design honestly ... Source(s): I have chosen forum categories approaching this one --> http://www.ampminsure.org/manage/about2300.html
First of all, the insurance company wants to catch the claim closed too. It is a proven fact that the longer a claim stays open the more it costs the insurance company.

Secondly, this is most possible not a covered loss. The slow seepage of water is an exclusion in any run of the mill ISO (insurance Services Organization) policy.

Third, You own the house. If you're waiting for the insurance company to do the work, you will wait forever. The repairs have to be done and the insurance company will not do them for you. Further more, if the repairs are not completed the insurer may not renew your policy.

Almost adjectives companies either exclude or severely limit coverage for mold remediation.

If you own not received any information from the adjuster on the claim, call the company and find out who the adjusters boss is and contact him with your concerns. The agent have limited pull on a claim. It is best to accord with the claims department of the insurance company.

If this IS a covered loss, you should be able to claim some ALE (Additional Living Expense) money for meal, since you are not able to cook at home. This coverage will pay for ADDITIONAL cost for you to chomp through out while the kitchen is destroyed. They should ask what your normal food bill is per month, and what you are paying now. You are entitled to the difference. Source(s): Barry, 20 year insurance professional.
I don't think i could right to be heard it better than that. Also, the insurance companies can find ways of exploiting the law so they don't have to salary you. Maybe if theres one nail in the side of your house they can blame it adjectives on that
Insurance companies always stall.

First, money has a "time cost". The longer they can hang around before paying you the better since they earn interest on the money for longer.

Secondly, if they can inconvenience you enough next you may actually fix some or all the smash up yourself. In doing so, you may end up invalidating your claim.

Best thing to do presently is lawyer up
You can always get the work done yourself and hold it paid for yourself and regardless of what other answers have lead you to believe...the insurer is obligated to pay.

They hold off within paying right away to make certain that it is a valid claim to set off with.

If you have river damage from a maintenance issue, it is not a coverable claim.

You are responsible for making sure you fix wet problems in your house.

Homeowner's insurance is not a maintenance contract to fix fruitless pipes. It is to cover unforseen events like a burst pipe that was chance. If you have bad pipes, you should return with them fixed.

This delay by the insurer protects you and me from paying premiums that we should have to....contained by order to pay claims that shouldn't be salaried.
Well, most likely there is any not much coverage, or no coverage.

Mold remediation is not covered under most homeowners policies. Water damage over time is almost other (but not 100% of the time) a maintenance issue.

No one is going to "fix" your problem for you, even if it's covered. All the insurance company does is write you a check.

So if they've already written you a check, and you are just have a hard time getting the work done, and it's a contractor hired by the insurance company, call your agent and enjoy them intervene. Source(s): agent, 20+ years
