With this weather my mum within law house is flooding again.the insurance company own be notify but theres?
an ongoing dispute from 2 years ago.as previous the water is from outside and no fault of the owner. what can we do?
Answers:
In the US, normal home owners insurnace does not cover flood, you hold to buy special flood coverage,
So if you have flooding, you contact your flood insurance company and file a claim. Your majority home owners would not cover this ( unless they did the flood insurance)
Go out when it's pouring and own a look to see exactly where the water is coming from - we manage to divert water running down the road by building a low wall, so that it went into a gully & didn't flood us again. If it's running stale fields, contact the Environment Agency.
change insurance companies for the next time it happen and take legal dealing against the current company (if necesary slip and hurt a knee or an arm)
Time to move for christ's sake.....
I work for one of the 3 major insurers .The flooding may be no breakdown of the owner but as you havent provided enough information on your question. and in attendance has been a dispute going on from 2 years ago I am assuming the ingenious claim wasnt covered due to non disclosure or incorrect information given about the flood risk and this is the same or similiar circumstances as previous. If you own already made a complaint with the insurance comapny and are not happy beside the response u can then complain to the www.fsa.gov.uk Source(s): www.fsa.gov.uk
contact the insurance ombudsman or the financial services
authority - you put the names surrounded by a search engine for contact details
Check your policy,,, if the problem be highlighted to the Insurance company or you are known to leave surrounded by a flood risk area? this will be worked into your policy and you will be paying for the extra cover....If your claiming for contents damage and building vandalize and this is the second time...you should really have identified the problem....the best thing too do is appoint a surveryor who will most probable be the best person to identify why the problem is happening might be innate Springs in the area? which can produce this problem.... another suggestion contact the County Council..they may be able to help...The insurer will with the sole purpose honur what the policy covers...so contact the fianancial Odbudsman and office of fair trading who will guide you within the right direction or pop along to the Citizens Advice who can look at the policy for you and identify the key areas, I think the surveyor would cost around lb120 for this aspect of work.. ex-insurer worker
