Do you judge the insurance and the cost of housing will travel down anytime soon?

Answers: The cost of housing is going up everywhere, however, it is leveling off in parts of the country.

The insurance (at lowest the good policies) are based upon replacement cost of the home, which is also going up swiftly. As the cost to replace your home goes up your coverage goes up, hence the premium go up even if the insurance company doesn't hike their rates. In New Orleans you've got a double whammy as the insurance companies are raise their rates to cover the recent losses there. Source(s): Independent Agent
soon? no within the next conceivably 2-3 years yes. once they start getting hit with profit lse from people who don't wanna move spinal column and pay so much, rates will start going down to a more resonable price. for it to get put a bet on to pre-katrina levels probaly will be 5 or more years.
Trust me on this, the cost of housing WILL BE DOWN in the very close to future, as the bottom is about to plunge out of the housing market. Prices will NOT be high forever, as near are BIG CHANGES right around the corner, and prices on everything will take a very sharp nosedive, and this will be lifelong. i assume as more homes are repaired and made liveable, the laws of supply and demand will gross housing costs level out here. i'm less hopeful roughly the insurance rates, but there are so many relations who aren't able to afford the hikes that you'd think something's gotta afford.
I agree. Our mortgage has be on the rise, like everyone else's. It is the increase in insurance. Add the reality that I am now in jeopardy of loosing my homestead exemption, and utilities are rising. I may be forced into a decision I do not want to make. I am a true die rugged, but there are limits.
Have you been living below a rock? The cost of living is going up and up. Insurance and housing will be right there with it.
