They are going go against my house insurance?
I got a letter within the mail saying they be going to cancel my house insurance because of "condition of roof, specifically damaged valleys" I call them and asked them about it they just told me to run pictures of the roof and they would let me know. But can anyone tell my what diluted valleys are?
Answers:
look for a dip area in your roof, usually where on earth one part of your roof joins another. If they are worn out, a roofer can repair - they don't want your house to leak or they don't want to get stuck fixing your roof if it is within bad shape. Get a few estimates, many roofers are not as honest as they should be.
A valley is where on earth two sloped roofs intersect. There are a few ways they are constructed. A closed shingle valley just consists of shingles overlapped one another. Closed valley can only seem dilapidated if the shingles are falling out or missing. If this is the case, it is a simple repair that consists of replacing the shingles. Open valleys are valley that are lined with metal usually copper, tin or aluminum. The roofing stuff is laid on top of the metal and cut back 3-4inches from the center. Slate roofs require this type of vale. Damages could include rotted metal, missing slate, or missing shingles. If I can help in any track you can e-mail me at rick(a)richbennettcontracting.com ...
Good luck,

IF YOU WANT INSURANCE YOU NEED TO FIX YOUR ROOF ASAP, TAKE THE PICS, AND GET W/AGENT. IF YOU DON'T LISTEN TO YOUR AGENT/COMPANY YOU WILL BE CANCELLED. LICENSED AGENT.
It's lower section of the roof, that apparently have damage or wear.
Call your agent - but it's pretty tricky to confuse a camper and a cabin lacking a roof. They probably want you to put a new roof on the house, unless they REALLY got the wrong house.
Be sure when you talk to your roofer that you find out if they are bonded and insured. Get reference and don't pay anything until the work is completed to your satisfaction. Your insurer may even hold some reccomendations for you. Also, explain to the roofer that your insurance company is not paying for any of the repairs and that it's coming out of your pocket. Usually, they'll give you a break.
