Try the Red Cross. Also, are your parents still declaring you as a depedent on their taxes?? If so, they may hold some coverage for you on their homeowners policy (if they have one). The Standard homeowners policy gives 10% of contents inhibit listed on the policy to another location and if you are still considered a resident relative for tax purposes, you may crash down under this clause. Have your parents call their company to see if they hold some coverage there.
If you are truly on your own - you pay your own college, work, wages your own taxes & live in your own apartment in your own dub, there will be no coverage on your parents' policy.
When you get subsidise on your feet with stuff, purchase a tenant policy, you can get a minimal one for about $150 per year depending on where on earth you are. This includes personal liability which is very important if you ever return with sued (for something other than a car accident).
Good luck to you.
See: The Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and Traveler's Aid (yes, they may help). Ask at your college as well.

There's no "free insurance" for people that don't buy it. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
Call any local church and they should be any able to help you themselves or share you where to go to return with help. That would be the fastest way to bring back help that I know of. Good luck...that is an awful sentiment!
