House insurance within Florida?

Would house insurance only cover house damages or also the possessions in the house. I'm surrounded by Manatee county.
"> Normally homeowners insurance (meaning you own the house) has some coverage for contents, like furniture, etc. There are precincts on some items, like jewelry, fine art, furs etc .
If you have a renters policy, that is to say only for contents.
Your policy will show you how much coverage there is for the contents, clothes, etc. Source(s): i am a legal representative in florida who works for a national insurance company
It depends on who owns the posessions, and what type of policy was purchased!

Typically, homeowners insurance covers the building AND the contents of the owner of the house, as long as they live near. In Florida, though, some people have contracted to 'cut costs' by insuring only the structure.

If you're a tenant, you can bet that your landlord doesn't own any insurance to cover your stuff.

Aside from that, you'll need to check with your policy or your agent.
