Anyone else perceive it's the meterologist failing that Florida is losing house insurance from so tons companies?

In 2004 Florida was hit by numerous hurricanes that caused a great deal of problems. Since then all I keep hold of hearing is how the meteorologist believe this is going to be even worse than that each year. They said it for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008. I can't even remember a hurricane from those years though I'm sure in attendance was 1 or 2. I think the meteorologist upset away the home insurance with their false predictions. What do you think?

I see you point, but....

It is the local county ordinances - such as Broward, that says if you hold 25% of your roof damaged, you get a integral new roof....

It's the number of $50,000 pool enclosures that other get damaged by entwine.

It's the State telling insurance companies they can't non-renew policies.

It's the number of public adjusters claiming more damage than near really is.

That's a start. Unfortunately, the State did it to themselves. Source(s): Insurance adjuster w/ expereince in Florida.
I think it have nothing to do with meteorologist predictions, and a large amount to do with historical hurricane claims in Florida - which hold been astronomically high.

It also have a WAY WAY lot to do with your politicians - who make it almost impossible for an insurance company to stay within business, in Florida, by overregulating the insurance industry.

Heavy business taxes, usually result in the businesses mortal taxed, moving to a more business friendly state. Which is what effectively has happen.

Don't blame the meteorologists - blame your politicians.
Home insurance covers lots of different things. I'm not sure about Florida regulations, so I suggest you call a local home insurance agent. http://www.easyhomeinsuranceguide.com/Florida-Home-Insurance.html They should know how to assist you.
I think to an extent...they one and only seem to show the same clips over and over and over...

and yes, within 2005 we got the 3 hurricanes back to stern ( I can't recall their names).

but long story shot, we have other been pummeled by hurricanes in Florida. They show like peas in a pod clips over and over again, and its only about 15% of Florida that get the "Worst" damage... We have at lowest possible a few hurricanes every summer.

I mean this really large span of precipitation we got was deem a "State Emergency" ....

oh come on it wasn't that bad ( just surrounded by a few areas )

so yes, I do blame them, as well as the people who give somebody a lift advantage of the system (insurance fraud ), because back contained by 05' a ton of people did that especially after the 3 hurricanes hit back to vertebrae.
Get Real.

NOAA predicts hurricanes. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

NOAA predicts hurricanes. They don't read out they will hit Florida. They just predict the number of hurricanes to form. Hurricanes were formed within 2005-2008.

In 2004 and 2005 Florida was hit by 8 hurricanes resulting in 39 Billion surrounded by insured losses.

Florida homeowner rates are high because Florida has abundantly of coast line and a very life-size exposure to hurricanes. The premiums paid by policy holders in 2004-2005 be no where near plenty to cover the insurance company losses.

Homeowners insurance companies need to be profitable in writ to stay in businesses. As a result of the devastating losses, they needed rate increases to remain financially stable. However, the Florida Legislature and Insurance Department have disallowed the needed rate increases and have created a business climate where insurance companies do not discern they can be profitable. Therefore, they are pulling out.

The insurance situation in Florida is way more complicated that you, and even I, get the message. But I assure you, meteorologists are not the reason State Farm is pulling their homeowners business out of Florida. Source(s): Insurance Adjuster 12 years
