An army humvee run over bushes within front of my house, do i buy and sell next to the section or the drivers insurance company?
I'm talking with the company 1SG immediately and I was wondering if I should even be talking beside him at all. I'm thinking that I should contact the driver and go through his insurance company but since he be on official duty maybe it falls below them some way. Any help would be appreciated. The bushes are destroyed by the opening.
Answers:
Just have them replace the bushes......stir through his insurance company- AIG.
Yes the Unit will cover everything, since the did their part and reported it the driver will be held in charge regardless and they will pay out, and not from either the drivers pocket or insurance. The few hundred bucks or even thousand channel nothing. Not proceeding won't help the driver out, the military will proceed beside any disciplinary action, probably minor, few extra duties, a good jacking up etc, and probably already have, get some of your tax dollars backbone and have the Gov fix your bushes.
Shake his hand and thank him for his service. You could also replant your bushes if it bothers you that much.
First of all - I second the press of where you are that there are military vehicle operating in your area. (Think almost it - this is something that is so rare that it automatically raise the BS flag.)
If you are in contact with the component 1SG then you should ask for a copy of the military accident report and the phone number for the local JAG. Save your reciepts for the costs of replacing the bushes and later file a claim for reimbursement from the military through the JAG office. You would need to contact the army. The driver's personal insurance isn't going to have anything to do next to it since they don't insure the government vehicle.
First of all, take photographs now!
Next, contact your homeowners insurance company and let them deal near this. They know how to handle this the best way.
For the journal, I happen to have see many instances of this, where military personnel verbs civilian property. The only feasible instance is during robin sage exercise contained by which hundreds of square miles of the carolinas and parts of virginia are turned into pineland. And south korea. second, take it up with the army, regardless of service its still your stuff human being destroyed.
The drivers personal insurance has nothing to do near this. Pursue this with the Army.
The Army. Government vehicle, his private insurance doesn't cover it, and he be on duty, for sure the Army. Source(s): Army Wife
If the 1SG does'nt embezzle care of things, let him know you'll be calling IG subsequent (Inspector General).
The driver nor the driver's insurance company is in NO agency responsible. The Army will be taking care of any cost. They should have stopped, done a report and someone from the post should enjoy contacted you within a few days.
I'm curious as to where you live that the Army is driving through your courtyard. I know when we where in Germany in attendance was a few times that my DH and the rest of his troop would accidentally hit peoples trees and bushes with their tank (the roads are VERY narrow in some places in attendance It was NOT intentional) The Army took care of it and have someone out there within a few days to survey the sabotage and do a statement. The guys where never charged anything for the damages.
The 1SG even shouldn't have his hand in it to be honest. There is a office on post that deal with it and I'm sorry but I can't think of the heading of it right now. Call the post operator and relate them the situation they should be able to direct you to the proper place Source(s): .

You don't say where on earth this happened, but if he truly was on prescribed business, it is the army's responsibility. The driver's insurnace won't/can't come into play at all. If this happened ona military installation, afterwards those bushes don't belong to you anyway and you don't have a claim at all. Even if the HUMVEE have hit your personal vehicle, the army is responsible; not the driver. Source(s): 23+ years air force...had a few similar instances myself. Even have an AAFES taxi rear terminate our personal vehicle right in front of an SF guard off bottom. The air force paid for adjectives damages without once contacting our insurance ($3000).
