An insurance agent be just now at my house to means my property. We be looking to haphazard companies?

She unlatched the gate to the back patio to get in. When she departed, she did not re latch the gate. My husband got home at 5:30 and tolerate our dog Patches out as he has done for the last 9 1/2 years, not knowing the take was not latched. At 5:30 our next door neighbor call and said our dog had just be hit by a car.At 8:50pm she passed away in the emergency room.I don't thought about the money this cost us because she was approaching a child to us. We are devastated. The guilt of this senseless death is eating us up. I want to know if this agent is within any way professionally negligent. Is here anything we can do to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else because of her irresponsibility?
