Does common house insurance cover a worn out mobile phone?

my phone got water inside and immediately the screen is discoloured and not all the buttons function is it covered by the house insurance
Answers:
you can lone ask, it might come under general contents. but they might increase your premium - how much is the phone worth, might be better in recent times getting a new one.
put my computer and mobile
on it cost an extra lb7.00
a year so i dont presume you
are phone them anyway
good luck
Possibly, however you should check next to your bank if the acciunt you have covers this as I know Barclays Bank, Barclays Additions accounts enjoy automatic mobile phone insurance.
Probably not, but even if it did, depending on your deductible you would be better of only just paying out of pocket for a new one or get a used one somewhere. On our policy we can just have 2 claims per policy period or we lose our insurance.
Van_at_lincoln's is right it may be covered, but you really don't want to use it on something close to a phone. This would show up as a water damage claim, so if the company doesn't abolish you, it certianly would if you file another claim in 5yrs.
In short, don't do it, your rates may travel up or you could get cancelled. Insurance is there for catastrophic loss, not broken cell phones. Source(s): Insurance agent
I don't know but even if it is your homeowners deductible is likely profusely higher than the value of the phone so it would not be worth your time.
no
I don't meditate so, but you could try! Do you have "all risks" insurance, phone them up, and ASK! remember, your excess may be more than the cost of a phone!
It may be covered, however, what is your deductible? Replacing the cell phone may be smaller number than your deductible and therefore it wouldn't be worth filing a claim.

Either process, I wouldn't claim the cell phone. If I were you I'd just shell out the money for a unusual one. Your carrier would probably consider the claim on the cell to be frivolous and could lead to a non-renewal.
IT would be cheaper to buy an new phone than pay a greater rate of insurance later, due to this trival claim.
It will be covered - if you have the right cover. If happen at home will need AD. If away from home some personal belongs. Get a cause of impair report - fees will be paid if covered. Or you can get insurance company to inspect.
No. Homeowner's insurance is designed for major catastrophies such as fire, storm smash up, or something else along those lines. Having said that, if you put in a claim for something small, you look like a big risk and your premium might go up. Even if you have coverage on your mobile through your house insurance (which is not extraordinarily likely), I'd try to resolve the water damage issue w/ the cell phone company instead.
No it doesn't. When you buy a new phone and if its a classy one you can buy it from the phone shop. I bought my phone from Phones 4 u and I salaried lb50 extra to get it insured agaisnt everything for a year. xx
No sir, you would own to have been paying for cell phone insurance which is something like $5 a month.
