Do you know homeowner/property/life insurance policies don't cover nuclear power plant catastrophe?

The insurance policy exclusion is there if you look for it.

I'm not surprised, how often do they happen surrounded by this country?
To start with, most insurance policies do not cover that.

Only three disasters would remotely be imagined to occur.
1) Critical Mass - the infamous "meltdown". In order for a nuclear fission to come about you need to reach critical mass. That is when the fission occur where there's enough densly busy atoms to guarantee a chain reaction. When one fission occur it sparks another, etc. This is counteracted with a cutoff of sorts. Basically the source of the reaction is cut contained by this situation before it can get nearby, but you should never have enough things there for that to happen except for within a nuclear weapons facility.

2) Terrorism or theft - not credible that it would cause damage to you, however, if conventional explosives are used and the personality knows how, they can manipulate it into a nuclear explosion.

3) Radiation dribble - more of a health issue and the gov't would be held liable.

In fact, within all three the gov't or company would be liable.

Um, don't know about the other types of insurance, but my life insurance policy will settle out death claim no matter how I die. (except for the suicide clause where on earth if I commit suicide in first 2 years, the insurance company won't pay destruction claim. They will refund the premiums). Yep, but then again the chances of that surrounded by the USA are slim to non (since 3 mile island) as the plants are regulated to death unlike Russia and other countries. Read your policy about twine driven rain damage..that's another surprise.
You would,nt live long ample to collect it anyway,,,
you got a good country in that havent you......
Why doesn't that surprise me and I'm British!!
