Homeowners insurance and 25year frail roof?

I have a very outmoded roof, I did not ask the previous owner how old, but I think it be the roof from when this house was built in 1980 or 1982. Well, we have a few high winds this year and lost closely of cedar shakes as well as some minor siding damage. The sculpture also is peeled from the rain and wind.

However my insurance investigated and said because my roof was already old, that they be not going to replace my roof or repair it because it was a normal wear and hole, but I believe the roof was damaged by glorious winds even though it is old. We own taken care of it because it does not have leak, but just lots of missing shingles.

Can anyone advise if the homeowners shoudl be responsible since they insured us for I don`t know 2 years or 2 1/2 years. Why did they insure us if they knew that they would not cover any damage to our infirm roof. Also, i believe my roof is the most important structure of the house since it protects everything so what's the point of having homeowner's insura
Answers:
You can add another level over the original roof, each state have their own codes for it. Insurance rarely covers new roofs unless they are specifically dog-eared by a tree falling, etc. Acts of nature and an old roof doesn't count. Homeowners insurance covers accident. You roof is 25 years old and needs to be replaced. That is the norm. You'll never know how to get them to pay for it.
i dont know anything about insurance, so i'm not the one to ask but i'm gonna comment. it just doesnt nouns right to me, thats the point of them having an inspection. you could prolly take them to court over it unless near is something that you signed and waived for them. cuz like you said, if you bought insurance through them, it should cover it. i would def. be getting insurance and/or taking them to court if they dont help yourself to care of it.
Well... my answer won't be all right liked... but...

I completely understand the track you feel - and I quite recurrently feel the same agency about insurance companies. However, what you're asking is for your insurance company to replace your '74 Ford Pinto with a 2008 Lexus. I do believe they should cover repairs to win your roof water tight so that it's not damaged, but no, they should not be liable for replacing a 25-30 year antiquated roof. Most all shingle and labor warranties hold also run out by then also. Cedar shakes last much shorter than the supposed 50 years if they are surrounded by the shade.
