Allstate Home Insurance and Pitbulls?
I currently live in a home insured by Allstate Insurance and I am looking to adopt a pitbull. I am wondering if this new assimilation will mess up the insurance policy that the home that I live in has. I call Allstate and the representative told me that it is possible that there may be a charge for something like that, but that within also may be restrictions against it, and was unable to pass a concrete answer. So, could you all give me direction? Also, I am not the insurance holder, so I do not know if this creates any problems either. The dog would be solely mine, and not the home owners.

I dont think you should have a problem,however if it is a situation of the dog being a "pitbull" just bring up to date them that its an American Staphashire terrier.they are very close relatives.

Unless you live surrounded by a state that doesn't allow insurance companies to restrict dogs based on breed, NO insurance company will write a homeowners - or ANY kind of liability policy - near a pitt bull present. My guess is, as soon as Allstate finds out that the dog exists - HOPEFULLY not through a dog bite claim - they'll cancel the policy, and the homeowner won't be able to bring back replacement coverage.
