Does home insurance cover acidental ruin?
I acidently spilit water on my laptop and broke it. Would home insurance cover this?
You're kid, right? The answer is no and to save you the trouble of asking more foolish questions homeowners insurance also doesn't cover dropped broken dishes or clothes tatty in the washer from too much bleach.
"Ooops I spilled water on my laptop" is NOT a covered peril under the STANDARD homeowners. It IS a covered peril below an HO7 style form, OR, if you've seperately insured your laptop on an EDP style endorsement.
So, it depends entirely on your homeowners policy. If you paid extra for any the HO7 or the scheduled property, yes. If you didn't pay extra, promising no.
YOUR AGENT should be able to answer this for sure.
"> homeinsurance.awardspace.us - try this one. I just carry home insurance from them. As I know they provide such a service.
Since no one here have a copy of your policy no one (I mean NO ONE) here can dispense you a definite yes or no. I sell Homeowner's policies where on earth that would be covered, and I sell policies where it wouldn't (they cost smaller quantity and some people want to pay as little as possible). Call your broker/agent and ask them
Why SO Serious ??
On a more serious note, check next to your insurance company they know what areas are covered by your participation.
