Anyone dropped from State Farm Insurance (home) after file claim?
We live in NY (Long Island) and recently come home from vacation to find a bad flood, cause by a washing machine hose which broke from wear and hole. There is damage, both upstairs and down. The washing domestic device is upstairs in the kitchen, and there be water in a few rooms which dog-eared carpeting and walls - not too horrible. The worst was downstairs where the river caused the ceilings to collapse within two rooms. Needless to say, this will wind up man a large claim. How nervous should we be around being dropped? State Farm is sending a second person to look at the disfavour, after receiving the estimates from the restoration company and flooring contractor, in establish to approve the work. We have only have one other small claim, for a lost wedding band, 10 years ago. We enjoy three other policies, in addition to our home insurance. Thank you for any guidance you can give.

~~You don't have need of to worrry. I had a claiim at least as impossible or worse than yours and our premium never even went up. This is the huge plus as to why you stay with one insurance company and don't dive around. We have had several smaller claims near them and still no problem. We've been with them for 30+ years, and never a problem, receive great discounts, and our claimss are salaried promptly and our needs always taken carefulness of. This is why I recommend them so highly to everyone I know. You will be fine, don't worry a moment more or less it. Our claim in 1998 was nearly $18,000.00. Never affected us by an extra penny (except for the deductible of course), they were a moment ago wonderful!
It would be a blessing if State Farm dropped you. This is matching company that got hit with putative damages post-katrina for concealing expert reports that found reduce to rubble was covered, and then sent within new experts that found that damage be caused by flooding and therefore not covered.
As a NY attorney that have been handling insurance claims for almost 10 years, I can say that this is like company that operates in NY. They may cover this claim, but as a undamaged, this company fights legitimate claims more than any other insurance company. Less than 10% of my files are for claims against State Farm, on the other hand they take up more than 60% of my time b/c every claim is a fight. In certainty, very few no no-fault doctors will treat you if you have State Farm because every claim is a face-off.
I use State Farm, they will not drop you.
They may question that the house is owner populated though, that is a lot of disfavour that could only (logically) happen if not a soul was in the house.
Your last claim was several years ago, so I would not worry.
You will only lose the claims free discount for a few years, but that's ok. They will not drop you.
You'll have to ask your agent. Normally, you need two claims inside of three years, to carry dropped. My personal house insurance is with State Farm, and we had three claims inside of three years, and didn't draw from dropped.
