Home owners insurance?

My roof is not new but we had a fundamentally bad wind / rainfall storm. This lifted off various shinngles, is this a claim? The home is currently rented but I own it and have insurance
Well, the storm damage to the shingles would likely be covered. BUT, the cost to replace 30 or 40 shingles, is credible under your deductible.

AND, if you have this on a HOMEOWNERS policy, that channel, the house MUST be owner occupied. If you rent it out, you need a DWELLING policy or a LANDLORD policy.

So you could enjoy some coverage issues there.

Also, if the roof pretty much needs to be replaced, after you put the claim within for the few missing shingles, expect the insurance company to demand you replace the entire roof, as a maintenance issue.

In other words, you should really discuss the together situation with your agent. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
~~Most homeowners will repair or replace a roof due to wind damage. You would enjoy to check your own policy to be positive.~~
"> It sounds like you do own a rental dwelling policy that would cover this claim. Call your agent or insurance company and put in a claim. You might want to get an estimate first to see if the amount is below your deductible because then you might as well pay envelope for it yourself. If it is over, then put in the claim. That is what you wage for. And, what do you mean that you have no agent? What company is this? I would switch to another company so you can enjoy an agent. But if you put in this claim you probly will not be able to switch companies for a while. The insurance companies want you claim free for some time, approaching 3 years.
