Approximately how much would hurricane/home owners insurance be west of "I"95?
I'd like to know how much you think homeowners insurance would be on a 2,000 sq. ft. home, west of I 95?
It would be a newer home, built 2003 and worth within the market of $375,000.
Just a ballpark figure will do. We're relocating but ill-equipped to contact a broker yet.
P.S......Let me know how much you pay even if the house is worth slightly smaller quantity or more than the one we're thinking of.
Thanks so much.
Answers:
all homes west of I-95 have cheaper insurance; a newer home built after 1998 approx is underneath the newer hurricane-proof building code, so insurance will be less on those homes. Its hard to estimate but don't count on it self less than $2500 +/- and you'll need flood insurance as all right, $300/yr. it all depends on your deductibles.
I don't know what city you're referring to--but $375,000 buys you more house in the northern section of FL than in the southern area of South Florida. You might consider renting formerly buying, it would give you a chance to find the right neighborhood and a better price since housing is still correcting previous valuation. A realtor can show you lots of beautiful homes to rent.
