Question something like how long you must enjoy home owners insurance for?
I'm interested in renting out my condo during the Democratic National Convention (I live in Denver). However, my condo insurance does not cover damages cause by renter. If I were to upgrade my policy, how long would I have to commit? Could I newly get a renters policy for a month? Or do I need to engender a year commitment?

It depends on your contract with the company you buy insurance with. They might require it for 1 year, but doesn't hurt to bid a few companies and see if they cover month to month.
you would have to change your policy to a dwelling fire policy and they are written on a every twelve months basis. if you write one and only involve it for a week or so, you can cancel and rewrite back to a homeowners policy afterwards. not sure its really worth the hassle. check near your agent and see what he suggests.
