Let me tell you what will start. Your claim will probably be covered depending on the circumstances. However, SF will RAISE your deductible.
Just provide the adjuster next to whatever they ask for. It's not tough. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
I have State Farm and roughly 5 years ago I had a water pipe burst. My agent handle everything smoothly. Prior to that, my mother had her purse stolen in Las Vegas and I took her (she lived near me) to my agent and found we could recover a limited amount via my homeowner's policy. She DID enjoy a police report and because I was a long-standing customer of a very upright agent, there were no problems.

The agent make a huge difference. Yours SHOULD walk you through everything you need to know (which will include a police report). If you enjoy any photographs of the items stolen, that will help. It's unlikely you have an appraisal, but if it be a very valuable item, hopefully you do. If it's a smaller amount costly item and you have the receipt, that help.

Most people will likely catch the depreciated, FMV, Fair Market Value, of whatever was taken. There ARE policies (you retribution more in premiums) that will pay replacement cost.

In any bag, whatever they determine to pay you, if you believe it's too low, within are ways to appeal and your agent can help you do that. However, it may be that the FMV is just deeply low and there's nothing you can do about that.

Good luck!
Provide a list of items and research the values and have them organized ahead of time. Get a police report and if you have replacement costs coverage there shouldn't be any issues, unless the adjuster is incompetent, which does surface from time to time.
