Are rat exclusions covered lower than home owner's insurance?
Answers: If you have rates, you might want to call an exterminator or buy some "rat candy" and put it out and slay them.
Normally, damages caused by rats (mice and vermin) are NOT covered.....it IS a "maintenance" problem (or lack in that of) - typically insurance only covers "sudden and accidental" types of losses.

I would think that, if the rats are excluded, they're not covered. That being said, what ARE you asking here ?
Follow up:
If a windy animal, not normally know to “infest” a human dwelling, gets into your home and cause damage, the standard HO-1 through 5 policies will provide coverage for such an event. Damages, (other than fire damage), caused by rodents, of any description, are excluded from coverage when the damage is a result of the infestation of the insured structure. Damage resulting from the homeowner’s own animals, be they wild or domestic is also excluded below the standard policy. Source(s): http://www.homeownersinsurance.cc/covere…
