Sorry for your loss.
I just had a fire at one of my rental properties and enjoy been dealing with adjusters for the ultimate four weeks. Most of them have authority and experience to deal near your most pressing issues like loss-of-use, extra expenses and securing your property. Remember if the adjuster recommends someone and you don't deliberate they're doing a good job, fire them and draw from someone else.
Other things will take time like going room to room and doing a 50 page analysis of what you lost. You'll also promise with 100 contractors coming out of the woodwork wanting a piece of the insurance settlement. Get references and hire someone the method you would anywhere else. Hang in there and God likely things will get done.

I don't hold any experience dealing with the adjusters. I am the adjusters. And, in broad, we really like total losses because it makes our profession much easier. You didn't ask a question, so...
As for best advise, for those of you reading this that haven't have everything you own just burn, take pictures of your stuff, engineer lists, and send them to your agent. It REALLY help in these cases. As for you, start making lists of the stuff you have in each room. Yes, it will be long and boring. While we take to mean that you are going to tell us a few little fibs almost what you had and how much it was worth, don't shift overboard. If you have never golfed, don't claim $2000 clubs. If you are middle class, we aren't going to buy priceless artwork without proof. And once you start down that road, we will start to examine more and more.
Once last piece of advise, it took you a lifetime to put together your house. Don't expect that this will be handle in a couple of days. Take your time and get it right. Source(s): Sorry something like your loss
Well, your agent is the first being to go to, but you're not really asking a question here, or indicating any problem. So I don't know what to read out.
I've had experience (as an agent) with several total loss fires. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
