Home insurance cross-examine?

Hi. I am trying to get an estimate for how much my stuff will cost to replace.
- Do i use the value of the item when it be new or the value what it is worth very soon.
- How would i prove that i ever had the items if they get stolen. Do i have need of receipts in order to claim the money spinal column.
- I bought a second hand panasonic viera TV for lb100 as it was slightly tattered. Should i put it down as lb100 or as lb800 that it originally would have cost. Thanks.

Trying to estimate what all your contents are worth is a nightmare and the probability are that you will end up underinsured in the event of a total loss claim. The best entry to do is to get a "bedroom rated" policy - that's where the insurer sets the advantage of your contents based on the size of your property (number of bedrooms). Ring a couple of companies and ask what cover they recommend. It's far easier and more accurate than trying to work it out yourself. They will just hand over you a maximum figure, such as lb25,000.
That depends on the terms of your policy. Some offer "latest for old" so you need to allow for the replacement cost with unusual items even if you bought them second hand. Other policies will only grant you the value of replacing with items of a similar age, so abundantly of stuff will have very little plus. That gives you cheap insurance, but not much reassurance if you get burgled.

Keeping receipts is other useful, but not essential.
You can easily check your quotes within internet, for example here - homeinsurance.awardspace.us
1. Use the value that it is worth, you want to bring a policy that has replacement cost, not actual cash importance. This way that give you what it will cost to buy up to date, not what it is worth.

2. Keeping receipts is always a good model. I also tell my customers to take digital photos of adjectives of their receipts and merchandise. Be sure to have serial numbers etc.

3. Call around to find the best cost, check with your auto insurer, they may proffer multiple product discounts.
