Am I allowed to use two different Health insurance policies for visitng the doctor and paying for meds?
I have two different inssurance policies and I am not covered by one of them for certain meds that I call for. However, the other insurance policy I have does cover the med. Now I have used the one that does not cover the med to see the doctor and am not sure if I can in a minute use the other to pay for the med. Any info would be apprecitated.

Yes you can. Usually one covers part and the other covers the rest. But sometimes in that is a primary and a secondary, and they do it weird.
Many places will require that you folder the claim to the 2nd company yourself because it gets too complex.
Always remember this.
For any claims insurance companies have need of original documents.
As long as your hospital is able to produce documents detailing the claims for different coverage later it is OK. Insurers will only accept resourceful copy.
Hope you can get the hospital assistance on this Source(s): http://www.einsuran.com

yes. file to both plans respectively time you need to file a claim.
Yes. You usually have to hold one company listed as your primary insurance and the other as your secondary. You will report all claims with your primary company first. Anything not covered by them would be file on your secondary company to help "pick up the slack". If you narrate your doctors/pharmacist that you have primary and secondary coverage, and provide copies of your identifications cards, next the doc's office/pharmacy will usually file your claims for you. That just depends of the office/pharmacy. You might hold to file claims to your secondary company yourself.
So from someone who works in the medical insurance world .....having a primary and lesser is very beneficial to you. Not only will your claims be rewarded, possible in full. You probably have benefits beside one inusrance that the other doesn't cover. Same thing with the prescriptions. Not both insurances will cover like peas in a pod drug. For the most part, most of them will/
Now how it benefits you, you may not have a copay beside certian services....
But it's your responsiblilty to let your insurance companies klnow you have other coverage. Otherwise it's a hell of a mess trying to bring back the claims paid correctly.
Now which is primary: the insurance that you have through your employer is your primary.....if you work for two employer, the employer you have been near longer will be your primary.
I hope this helps. But for detailed information I would contact the insurance company.
