Why don't labor union donate their member group condition insurance?

What do labor unions do with adjectives the money they have? Why not offer group strength insurance to their members? Wouldn't this be a beneficial result of membership? Then they wouldn't hold to worry if their company goes in receivership.

It make more sense for them to get the employers to tender it, since it is not taxable that way.
