It is mandatory for me to achieve strength insurance?
I am living in British Columbia, Canada. I just found out that I am required by ruling to get the health insurance that the political affairs provides. What happens if I don't want to get it? Will they transport me to jail? Will they give me a fine?
Answers:
Mandatory according to whom? Never heard of that law. I didn't enjoy it for a while and nobody came after me. I don't think anyone can force you to compensate for the health care plan, but if you don't afterwards you'll have to pay if you want to go to a doctor or hospital. The health plan is usually the better concordat.
Its the law you have to rate it If you dont you'll still be billed by BC Medical and it will become an outstanding debt and grow larger and larger as time passes.
If you make underneath 25K per year you can apply for premium assistance which reduces the monthly bill. If you make beneath $16K per year you get it for free. If you want to apply do it on line at: http://www.health.gov.bc.ca/insurance/fi…
What BC Medical will want to see is your tax assessment from 2007 showing how much you made
If your working check near your employers benefits as often those plans will wage half or whatever,.
If you build to much for that then yes you have to income the premium
You do not need to acquire your health card, but you will be exempt from the universal fell care if you do not. If you pay taxes, you are in-titled to your condition card. Otherwise you have to pay for vigour care from your own pocket.
No, you will not be fined or sent to jail but if you should ever need a DR or hospital assistance I hope you have deep pockets as you will be paying big time. The insurance is not expensive and is base on your last years income. If you did not work last year you income nothing.
Why would anybody surrounded by their right mind not want health insurance? While the provincial healthcare system would still provide you beside emergency care in he armour of an accident or catastrophic illness, you'd not individual continue to be billed for unpaid premiums (like the other answer said+interest on the unpaid balance and they will collect via any garnishment of your wages/seizure of any tax refunds or appropriation of real property) but you'd also be on the hook for the expesne of whatever comfort you received as a result of the accident. Without MSP you can't even get contained by to see a Dr. for a routine appointment. Don't be stupid. Pay your premiums.
