Should NASA's budget be spent on national vigour insurance?
NASA will get $17.3 billion this year. Do you think that money would be better spent on providing vigour coverage to the millions of uninsured Americans?

Why do we need to keep exploring space at this time?
No. The budget the U.S. management spends on the illegal aliens for free housing, free healthcare, free food stamps and free education should be spent on national robustness insurance. Build the fence and kick out the illegals.
The root of the question is: would spending NASA's budget elsewhere enjoy greater benefit?
I'm biased. However, I suggest that the answer is no. Spending NASA's budget elsewhere would put a lot of smart, hardworking people out of a situation. That would have a pretty serious ripple effect in several places. That would create a spike contained by unemployment, there'd be people that used to enjoy health insurance who wouldn't, which would put a further burden on the health thought system.
In point of fact, the NASA budget is a very small number compared to what's currently spent on condition care. And it's been shown that throwing money at a problem does nil to solve it; it generally makes things worse.
The much smarter entity to do is make the healthcare system much more efficient. Americans own this idea that we can demand The Very Best. So we pour buckets of money into expensive test, expensive drugs, expensive specialists. More common sense in diagnosis and treatment would fashion the funding that's there go much, much further.
