Canadians love it and right to be heard they get good caution w/o the costs-It will cramp the styles ($$$$$$)of executives and doctors. Also, people are traveling to CUBA from the USA to get ability medical treatments as well as for training to become doctors-why?
Well, first, the bean counters and buracrats from your HMO would be replaced by ones from Washington, in reality, most of them would probably be the same people, they would simply be GS-whatevers instead of private employees. Then, the governement would regulate what doctors could charge, and, since they are going to be paying it, they will set those numbers artificially low. This will drive out a lot of you private practices, even faster than frivilous lawsuits are. It will become harder to see a doctor, and US school will produce fewer of them, as young nation realize that after 4 years undergrad, 4 years of med school, a few years of residency at slave wages and long hours, a $250,000 education, in attendance isn't a Porsche and mansion at the end of it, but a Chevy Cavilier and a 2 story house in the suburbs, because you are presently basicly a government employee. We will start have to recruit second and third world nationals, resembling France and England, because not enough natives want to be doctors. The Feds will also decide how several appointments you can have a day, and, if you are some sort of specialist, what sort of procedures you can preform. Take for example dentists. Do you want to go to that? How nearly waiting 18 months to get a pacemaker, or 12 months to treat your breast or prostate cancer, those are the average wait times underneath Britain's National Health Services. People in Great Britain actually do something call "Medical Tourism" because waits are so long, and the private clinics, which cater to the wealthy (often equal (a)$$holes who say "universal healthcare is good") are to expensive.

The worst sector about the whole entry is that a lot of the people pushing for this system won't in fact have to use it themselves. Do you think your congressman or senator is going to hold to wait if THEY need a pacemaker? Do you meditate that fat f*** Michael Moore will be treated by the barely english speaking Pakistani you will, 3 months after you made the appointment (that is the average continue in Great Britain for non-emergency care) or will he be at some private clinic with flawless doctors, paying for it himself?
If you want "universal health care", fine, move to some country where on earth it is being done, and leave me alone. I enjoy delt with military health thinking my whole life, which is basicly indistinguishable thing, and it sucks.
EDIT: for your edit. You're wrong, within will be places to go, I think I only just explained that with medical tourism and private clinics for the weathy. What you won't get are investigational doctors, young people unwilling to put up next to the cost and time required to become a doctor for the peanuts the feds will pay. And who would fund your tax incentives? Us, thats who. Source(s): 17 years Army Brat, 6 years USMC, 2 years married to the greatest soldier surrounded by the Army.
Every country should have developed this type of funding for assistance in the community. We in England hold the NHS. The problem is the system is abused because we in England refuse not a soul medical care from wherever they come from, consequently the system is abused and the individuals who actually pay contained by receive a lesser service because of that abuse.
Still a dam good idea though.

Edit: You know what? not a soul should worry about vigour, yeh, your right cancer is something else but even the best health care countries hold some diseases that are not caught in time. The infrastructure of the whole system and running of the buildings, wages etc is generally the main executioner. Where ever you work you expect some sought of pay rise as inflation rises.
Unfortunately, meeting these costs decide the type of health care you can afford. One mode the rich pay there share contained by ratio to the poor. Problem solved.
Hey Joby at least we get some form care and some is better than none blame that idiot all you lot resembling and we in Britain totally hate, you know the man that make George look good 'Tony Blair' we had a run down but hygienic Health service before him.
A mass sucking sound of Corporations and Medical Personnel leaving the Country...
The government would raise taxes.
The singular problem with universal healthcare is that the establishment would milk it instead of the doctors and hospitals.Politicians who are for it need to be checked out to see what there affiliation next to the healthcare system is.
The steps would be:
1) Acknowledge that we don't care roughly the Constitution anymore since under the 10th ammendment the federal government have no authorization to set up universal health guardianship.
2) Raise taxes through the roof.
