Live within NY, I am not married my girlfriend does not hold condition insurance, Is it possible to bring her coverage?

I need to know this because I started a new commission and I am up for health insurance in smaller amount than a month, who do i need to talk to within the company? In my opinion everyone should have strength insurance and I have heard of ethnic group getting it for their partner even if they aren't married. Can anyone help with this situation? My company is going to use Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield for our company coverage.

The best thing to do would be to verbalize to a LOCAL agent who knows the companies, the prices, and plans in your local nouns well. They will be able to answer those question for you and point out other differences that you may not have thought of.

You can connect with a local agent by wadding out the form at http://www.myinsurancequotes.net. A local agent will contact you and get the process started. I hope that help you. Thanks!

Your simply option is if your employer chooses to offer Domestic Partner coverage *and* your relationship meet the criteria for domestic partnership as defined by your employer.

Keep in mind that the majority of employers do not donate Domestic Partner coverage. In the event that yours does, be prepared to show documentation that you meet the requirements. (Example - sign a notarized affidavit of your relationship, show that you reside at the same address, show proof of united ownership such as filing taxes together, joint mortgage, combined bank statements, etc...whatever your employer happen to require.)

Also keep in mind that the agency your paycheck is calculated will change - health insurance for domestic partner is not a pre-tax benefit. (If your employer offers domestic partner benefits, they should be clearly able to explain how this works to you.)

Otherwise, if the employer doesn't present domestic partner benefits, then there's no way for you to make a payment your girlfriend. Unless you marry her, of course.

(Don't even think of lying and motto that you're married - if your company asks for proof or does an audit, you could be in big trouble...ranging from financial penalty up to losing your job.) Sure, you can buy her a private policy through a local, independent agent.

Hey, if YOU don't want to provide her beside wifely benefits, why should your EMPLOYER be expected to provide her with wifely benefits??

So buy her a private policy, or marry her and add her to yours. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
Check with the insurance company. While I was within school, I was on my live-in boyfriend's strength insurance policy under their domestic partnership clause.
I think you have to enjoy been living together for a certain amount of time. But here are affordable personal plans available through Blue Cross she could check out.
Check www.coverageforall.org. I don't know their toll-free #. Also, remember that Wal-Mart has more than just cheap antibiotic prescriptions. If NY accept common-law marriages than you need to chitchat to your benefits advisor. If not, check the website. Source(s): My wife is a nurse.
