Hi guys, Do you expect it is really worth it to enjoy private condition insurance contained by Australia?

I have one with MediBank and i hold to pay a lot respectively month. I just wondered whether it is really worth it. Instaed I can pay adjectives this if I need it. For example I heard it does not cover dental expenses as such, for example if you own a dental procedure for 5000$ then it just pays a small amount of it. I really consider there is no point having it?

No insurance is worth it! It is the biggest scam contained by the world. You have better odds at a roulette reins. These people are the ultimate hustlers. At least possible at the casino, you get paid when you win, and don't recompense a "deductable" for the privilage of recieving your money!! what a joke.
Have you re-assessed your cover, and what your wants are? Have you shopped around to compare, rather than dropping cover completely?

I work in Private Health Insurance, and after audible range all the horror stories I will eat bread and rice to verbs my hospital cover.

I know you like to think 'If I drop my cover, I'll basically save the money in grip I need it'....

Uh huh. What if in a couple years time you want your appendix out, or some wisdom teeth removed, or a hysterectomy, or worse? Have you saved the (potentially) $30,000 that it may require?

What around a minor condition you may get, that may be excruciating but not life threatening? Welcome to the public strength system waiting list.

As for ancillary cover, that to me is entirely optional. Look at what you would expect to claim over a few years. Look at the benefits your fund pays out for those services. Look at what you clear in premiums for that ancillary cover over those years and then establish - does the End(ie - benefits) justify the Means(ie - premiums) Source(s): over 3 years in the industry
I think it's fair Source(s): http://www.freewebs.com/all-about-insura…
I too work contained by the health Insurance industry and I think what you are getting stuck beside is a cover with little or no Gap benefits. If you can find a fund that participates within the "health fund alliance" you are more likely to find doctors that will join in a no(or a little) out of pocket expenses. Big funds generally don't secure the alliance because, basically they don't have to, but smaller funds mix the alliance to help there member get better benefits.

Also if you earn over $50k and are over 30 there are penalty that will occur when you have no (hospital) cover. Source(s): http://www.healthinsurance.com.au
It is not a interview of worth it or not. Well you will need it before you turn 30 and or earn more than $60k/yr I think. So you will pay smaller number medicare levy. If you dont have it you will pay a superior medicare levy than the people who have insurance.

If you're paying too much, after consider going for a lower plan, like minimal dental,etc...hospital cover is essential but doesnt have to be on top cover. See what option they have.
