Answers: Go to your regular doctor and let somebody know them you are having problems and if you need meds and counseling make clear to them and they will give you a referral then the insurance will possible cover it if it is covered.
It depends on your specific plan. Either find and read your benefits book or call the 800 number and ask them what you are covered for. Most of the time mental condition issues are covered, but with a higher co-payment than a regular doctor call on and there is usually a maximum number of visits per year.
Most of them cover both. Usually the mental health coverage is skimpier (has a cap on number of visit each year for example).
More recent regulations are requiring equivalent coverage for physical and mental but not all plans are next to that yet.
