What to do if we're pregnant and don't hold condition insurance coverage?

My husband and I are having a baby and our strength insurance doesn't cover pregnancy, what are some good options?
Answers:
That kinda stinks. Apply for medicaid and if you qualify they will cover it 100% except for circumcisions. Otherwise shop for insurance (most insurance companies don't look at pregnancies as a pre-existing situation.) Or you can freshly pay a monthly payment to the HP forever and ever (I am hoping to grasp on medicaid or me and my fiance gonna get married before the child comes so i can get on his insurance since they dont consider pregnancy pre-existing, otherwise I gonna be stuck with core HP bills)
Check near your state programs. Many states have special programs for this situation. Also check with WIC. If those option don't pan out, then communicate to your doctor about a payment plan and what to do. I have a friend with no insurance and her doctor just did the blatant necessary. She went to her appointments every month but saw the office's nurse practioner (cheaper). She just had the one ultrasound. And when it came time to enjoy the baby she stayed at home as long as possible and went within to the hospital after midnight (because your stay is timed from midnight to midnight). Her OB doc performed the delivery and she set up return arrangements with the hospital. She went home as soon as she could, she be in the hospital for only sometime.

Also alot of places are willing to give discounts for those paying on their own, but you enjoy to ask. And other offices/clinics have their own financial assistance programs you can apply for.

Last, make sure the infant is covered by one of your insurances and get them on the plan as soon as they are born so that their hospital charges are covered - just contained by case the baby have some difficulty and ends up needing to stay awhile.

And your last risk is to either research private/individual insurance plans or get a second position for awhile that offers insurance. You may be able to get hold of on one if you can afford the extra expense. Many do not consider pregnancy a pre-existing condition. And some places like Banner Health (many hospitals are owned by banner) offer vigour insurance even for part time work. Another friend of mine got a mission at the local hospital for 10 hours a week doing minor housekeeping and got insurance. And check into Starbucks because they use to offer insurance to even their constituent time employees. You could make coffee for a couple of hours every morning and be covered.

Good luck! And if adjectives else fails, don't worry. Hospitals are required by directive to treat you and your baby even if you can't pay for it. And I know this is going to nouns terrible, but if you end up going to collections for medical bills it is a hit to your credit report but not the finish off of the world. My mom works in underwriting for mortgages at a sandbank and said that she sees so many empire that have been sent to collections for medical bills and medical bill errors that most bank don't even consider it when they are looking at qualifying you for a mortgage. They pretty much just fail to acknowledge it. Which is bad for the doctors but good for you.
Really? What type of health insurance doesn't cover pregnancy? you can apply for medical card because you probably won't find another company that will cover it in a minute. It is concidered a pre-existing problem now.
If you make good money (and won't qualify for Medicaid or other assistance programs) you will newly have to self pay. That's what I am have to do. If you work out arrangements in advance it isn't so doomed to failure. I have private health insurance and it does not cover anything except "complications".

Here's what my costs are:
$2,000 for OB/GYN (includes prenatal visit and delivery)
$3,500 for vaginal delivery in hospital beside up to 48 hour stay (includes routine medications)
$540 for epidural
$1,000 for anesthesiologist to administer epidural
$700 for pediatrician in hospital to monitor baby during stay
$1,000 surrounded by lab bills so far...more to come

*When I called around to see if I could find another insurance plan after I found out I was pregnant every insurance company I spoke to told me it is considered a "pre-existing condition" and that not a soul would cover me. I don't know what Broken Wings is talking about.* Source(s): 26wks w/ a little one girl
i would articulate go to your local health department to start getting prenatal protection, it is free for pregnant women and they will point you in the right direction in expressions of health insurance. i would suggest to apply for medicaid, you will receive it since you are pregnant and they will cover absolutely everything up until the birth of the child and your postpartum aid. you should also check out your local WIC which will supply you with checks for supplemental foods necessary for honourable development during pregnancy. good luck!
you can also apply for medicaid online!
I enjoy never heard of medical coverage that does not cover pregnancy. Maybe not as good as a more expensive one but not at adjectives is really weird. Most states have a medicaid system for pregnant women (NY is call PCAP) Call and check, as long as you can prove the ins. doesn't cover it they should accept you.
Have you had it confirmed by a doctor that you are pregnant? Some insurance companies won't accept pregnancy since it classifies as a pre-existing condition. It sucks, I know.

Have you checked next to Medicaid? They might be able to provide you and the baby next to necessary care. If you engineer too much money, check with a women's clinic for other options.
I am 17 weeks and we do not own insurance. The dr.s office and the hospital here (in Florida) give brass discounts for people without insurance. My total Dr. bill is $1800. That covers adjectives appointments, ultrasounds, delivery, and pretty much everything else on their part. The hospital is $2500 for a conventional vaginal delivery without an epidural. It be not as bad as I thought. We just started paying both as soon as we found out and are purely hoping that we can pay for it all by the call a halt. I looked in to everything. Did tons of research online about different option but couldn't find a thing. Unless you make resembling no money there isn't any help out here. Our medical sucks in this country!! Good luck!
Apply for Medicaid. In NY state it'll cover the pregnancy, you for at least 60 days after labour, and the baby for at least 1 year. surrounded by addition, acceptance into Medicaid is automatic approval for WIC (again, surrounded by NY state, maybe different in other locations).
some hospitals have Blue cards or Green cards that help out pay for treatments so just ask your doctor
