Are insulin pumps covered by TRICARE (military vigour insurance)?
My wife is a diabetic and we are wondering if the health care provider for the military covers the cost for the pump itself. We know they cover the actual tablets (insulin) but we are curious if they cover the cost for the pump?
Answers:
Stop wondering and call the insurance company.
My husband is in the Air Force and be diagnosed with type 1 last Novemeber. By Dec 15 he have a pump. He had to be really pushy with them. They will cover cover it though. Getting supplies and stuff have sometimes been a pain beside tricare. But what can help is getting her doctor to say or recommend that she stir onto the pump to better control the diabetes. My husband has the Medtronic pump too if that is any facilitate. I don't know if they cover all pumps. Source(s): personal
