Will I lose my form insurance if I defer my enrollment?

I am thinking about defer my enrollment for a year, to save up money for books and spending and build my credit so I can get loans. After a year I'll of late transfer to a SUNY school and finish out at hand. I'm just wondering if I will lose my health and dental insurance by waiting a year to budge to school?
