If i own VA healthcare contained by Massachusetts, Do i own to repay for form insurance?
I live in Massachusetts and am forced to pay for condition care. I also get free condition care from the VA. Do i really need to remuneration for health care from a private provider if i receive it for free from the VA? Is there a way i can draw from supplementary insurance for emergency room visits only?
Answers:
Under the Massachusetts Health Care recuperate Act, Massachusetts residents 18 or older must carry strength insurance that meets specific standards called Minimum Creditable Coverage (MCC).
MCC establishes the lowest condition plan benefit threshold an individual must have in charge to meet the requirement for Massachusetts residents to have condition insurance. Regulations defining minimum creditable coverage have been set by the Commonwealth Health Insurance Connector Authority Board and abiding new MCC standards will become effective January 1, 2009.
According to the Mass. Connector website: "People enrol in Medicare Part A, Medicaid, an HSA plan, TRICARE, or the VA Health System will not be subject to any tax penalty, regardless of their benefits."

The answer may be one to talk beside the VA representative about. If you have full coverage thru the military, it seem you would be exempt from paying. Good luck.
