Do you reflect Obama should levy employer provided form insurance?
It is a form of compensation right? So why shouldnt it be taxed?
Its an idea they are thinking of doing.
Is this a accurate idea? How does this fit in next to his overall health care plan?
Answers:
Well, first of adjectives, he BLASTED John McCain for suggesting this..
Second, he promised that no one that makes below $250,000/year would be taxed... "ONE PENNY" he said! ;)
Third, he promised TAX CUTS for 95% of the population... (60% of Americans have insurance through their errand... Numbers don't work, do they?)
Fourth, union members enjoy some of the best benefits, and would likely pay the most surrounded by taxes! This would really be counter productive for Obama... The unions sort of own him!
President Obama terrifically carefully left the door break open for Congress to suggest such a tax, even though he campaigned against it.
He did this because his strength care plan will be very expensive and the money have to come from somewhere, and he knows this, so he left the door unfurl. Later, he'll probably claim that it was the best bill that could be passed, so he'll sign it anyway. [Just like he did beside earmarks.]
Now, should he do it?

It is a matter of fairness. Self-employed relations do not get to deduct their vigour insurance bills while corporations do get to deduct theirs. Thus, the corporate, non-profit, or system employee gets a 'free' benefit while the small business owner get a tax bill.
That's plainly unfair and it plainly skews the playing paddock.
So, in fairness, either the self-employed creature should get to deduct his family's strength insurance BEFORE adjusted gross income [as a business expense on Schedule C] or the employee who receive 'free' health care should reimburse taxes on its value as the compensation it actually is.
For me, it is proper and cleaner to export tax the employee on the value of the strength insurance benefit received -- this properly levels the playing field between for profit and non-profit entities. Taxing the corporation employer short similarly taxing the government or non-profit employer tilts the field toward no-profits and affairs of state and against corporations [and, indirectly, your 401k retirement plan or pension since these invest in the corporations].
Of course, if your hope is to drive capitalism into oblivion, as the goal of some on the moved out plainly is, then tax the corporation and impose sanctions to give the self-employed a deduction. that leaves no-profits and governing body with an advantage that will allow them to expand while capitalism shrinks.
in recent times think, the managerial expertise that brings you the post department and public schools could be expand to running the grocery stores.

[off to the woodshed with me.]

If you tax employer provided condition insurance, it'll likely encourage employer to find cheaper plans and ultimately hurt the recipient -- the worker.
I think it's devoid of a causative analysis -- like many of his plans that hurt the deeply people he vowed to represent.
Carbon taxes, taxes on employer health provided benefits.....hell very soon that my retirement portfolio is belly up the Feds will shrink me into poverty with these freaking taxes.
Wonder how they handle the ones which we money into through employers. Oh well so much for biggest street stimulus. Guess I will bend over yet again and without the benefit of KY jelly. They lately keep it coming.
I believe it is already taxed.
Do you have a reputable association supporting your claim that "Its an idea they are thinking of doing" or are you just republiconizing again?
after obama lambasted mccain for suggesting it back surrounded by the fall, he better not. he would make himself into an even bigger set-up as well as all those who booed mccain and cheered obama for it. oh-nobama.
Only if he taxes government-provided health care. It's a form of compensation right?
It's merely an idea they're thinking of doing in that they own pledged to consider all ideas.
Remember: this be an idea that McCain campaigned on, and Obama run against.
Actually the with the sole purpose side of the aisle to have ever suggest it was the republicans.
