Answers:
Like the previous answer, S would be cheaper until you rent it for more than 9 days.
Here is how you do it.
First, there is a floor charge of 135 for N and 0 for S.
Then, there is a daily charge of 50 for N and 65 for S.
Using a table, you can work out the following prices, where on earth the left it the N company cost and the right is the S company cost.
Day
1 185 65
2 235 130
3 285 195
4 335 260
5 385 325
6 435 390
7 485 455
8 535 520
9 585 585
10 635 650

This shows that if you rent the car for smaller number than 9 days, company S will be cheaper. If you plan to rent it for 9 days, both is fine. If you plan to rent it for more than 9 days, use N.
For questions similar to this, you need to set up an inequality.
First, come up with two equations to represent how much respectively costs.
Let x be the number of days you'll be renting a car.
For company N, the cost is 135 + 50x.
For company S, the cost is 65x.
You'd choose S when 65x < 135 + 50x
--> 15x < 135
--> x < 9
Obviously, you'd choose N whenever you don't choose S, or when x > 9
You can solve for that in a similar mode:
65x > 135 + 50x
15x > 135
x > 9

When x = 9, the cost of both companies are the same, and you're indifferent between the two choices.
When your private insurance policy covers rental vehicles then you don't pay envelope the 135 just the fifty.
135 + 50n = 65n whence n = 9 so holiday more than 9 days with N and less than 9 days beside S
