I call for direction on how to track down an insurance policy. For free to be precise.?
Before my father died, he and my grandmother both said there was an insurance policy for me. They are both gone very soon and I have tried the "missing money" sites, both the states and also the ones you pay to access.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

If you know where on earth your father had home, auto or health insurance, phone up that agency to see if they have record of a enthusiasm policy. Good luck.
there is a free route to do this. you can call a big insurance company (one you or your family do business next to would be good) and ask them for assistance. there is a master database somewhere that they have access to. Good luck!
There's no free way to do this, unless you just sit by his mailbox, and continue for the statement to come. If there IS an active enthusiasm insurance policy, they'll be mailing a statement to him once a year, or an invoice for the premium.
If the MIB search turned up no applications surrounded by the past ten years, your ONLY chance, is to run to his old bank, and bring copies of his cancelled checks for the two years before he died. See which insurance company he was paying.
I'm assuming, unsurprisingly, you've been through his personal papers, and they aren't there.
There is no middle database of life insurance policies. MOST people don't keep hold of a policy five whole years. The state insurance commissioner does not track these policies. And, of course, merely the executor of the estate of the deceased, can get the bank records, and the MIB report. Life insurance policies are PRIVATE transactions.
Which means, you obligation to make sure that YOUR beneficiary to YOUR life insurance policy have the contact information for your insurance company. And if you don't have life insurance, I've notice, it tends to run in family - so your father probably doesn't, either. Regardless of what they said. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
Your father's personal papers and records are the best place to look. Most people, however, die minus life insurance.
