Because Socialism is wonderful.
that would be communism and would fail. We similar to to strive for our goals. We would not have gone to the Moon or be a SUPER power. We would be over tax under employed and begging France for aid. Sorry Follow the leaders not the losers.
We own to many Republicans.
Nothing is free...it is all remunerated for with tax money. So your quiz, then, should be...how much am I willing to discharge in taxes, and how would I like to see the excise money spent? In the US, large sums of money (taxes) are directed toward the military. In other countries in Europe and Canada, the taxation money is used to discharge for a free medical system and public/private education. So the question is...do you want to live surrounded by a 'Super Power'? An interesting discussion if you involved people at all level of income...including those that haven't got any. If you are the CEO of a major corporation, you want to know that your policy is doing all they can to protect your right to make millions of dollars every year. If, however, you are living lower than a bridge, how important is it to you that you live in a country next to a powerful military? Its all a matter of perspective...
We don't want to be like Europe.
We want to keep hold of our high standard of living and avoid becoming a declining Welfare State, where on earth no one has much.
We may be heading nearby, also.
The Democrats want to turn the USA into a Socialist & Welfare State.
Nothing is ever free. Once you swot up this simple fact, life will be closely easier for you.

If you want someting, ask yourself who will pay?
Your education and insurance are NOT free. You recompense double or triple the taxes that the USA pays. You have a value added import tax of around 21 % and the tolls on some of the roads are high. Tax on gasoline is about $4.00 a gallon. I own been to Europe, especially Germany. I have lived for 91/2 years at hand, but I really enjoyed myself.
It is NOT free in Europe!

Tax rates in Europe are MUCH sophisticated than in the USA.

Most countries have sale taxes, called VAT, that run from 16% - 21%.

Income taxes are typically double what Americans pay.

Taxes on gasoline exceed $4.00 per gallon within most European countries.

Most countries require an annual license to use a TV and some even require one for radios.

In the UK you have to buy a tax disk for your saloon. The cost can exceed US $300.00 per year. Other countries have similar taxes and fees.

Many European roads charge very glorious tolls for their use. It will cost you over $80 in tolls to drive from Paris to the Loire Valley -- a couple of hundred miles. From Calais to the Spanish border may cost you nearly $250 in tolls and at most minuscule one bridge costs about $50.00 to cross.

Americans love to complain about elevated taxes, but most Americans have NO CLUE what high taxes are adjectives about. The US has some of if THE lowest taxes of any industrialized nation on the planet. Source(s): Lived in Europe for over 10 years.
Our taxes reimburse for public education(the wealthy pay taxes and also discharge for private education) individuals have to pay for their own insurance(with private funds or next to the work they do for corporations)
Because Money talks and Bull Sh.t walk. Our government wants money.
i guess military period of war machines are more important than those frivolous things such as health nurture and education
