What nature of free resources are available for a diabetic who can not take insurance & cant afford med. diligence?
Answers: Good luck because in Maryland with a 8 month infirm diabetic I got nothing. If I have lived in Delaware he would had be covered. I begged every doctor and hospital and every manufacturer for supplies. Even immediately we can not go to the kinds of doctors and appointments as we should but we do travel 4 times a year. You put your health first because without it near is no life in the long run. I engineer payments to doctors and just build up bills. We owed over 60,000.00 when he was diagnosed and individual stayed 3 days in hospital. You make payments take called to court and judge say consistent pays monthly move on. Try your state.
I am a Diabetic who can not get insurance or afford med. care. The free resources that are available to general public like me are the county hospitals. If you do not have any income you can check yourself into the emergency room and they will provide you beside a free Doctor, give you free medication (Insulin and heart medication) and counseling services. This is paid by the state and you can use these services until you are financially competent to afford it or provide it for yourself. Source(s): I am currently getting free Medication, Doctors care and counseling from Highland Hospital in Oakland California. Find out where on earth the local county hospital is in your neighborhood.
if you contact most of the major drug companies they have programs for relations in your exact situation no insurance. there is a website that have company, and state programs available also. you can contact my email timandlinda82804(a)yahoo.com and i can pass that site onto you hope this helps you out Source(s): my career
go online to pparx.org, you enter the meds that you involve and they give you the info or have forms available to teem out to get them furnished for you. You have to go down within certain income borders and if you qualify they send them to you free.
I have also found in attendance are a few meds that you can get a 90 day supply any for $20.00 or $30.00 depending on what it is.
RX Outreach (www.rxoutreach.com) to get the forms. You will need to get hold of a written prescription with 3 refills so you can messages it in then you can seize refills by calling in. They transport you a new form with respectively order. The websight has list of the meds you can get. We've gotten our first order surrounded by and they were really quick.
You will call for to prove your income with your tax return and year to date paystub copy.
Call your local doctors and find out if near are any reduced fee clinics.
The diabetic educator at your local hospital may enjoy some contact.
There could be an insurance that you can get from your state if you are unable to obtain any other kind of insurance, but we found for our state that we could not afford the insurance.
Good luck and keep probing and asking. :0)
You don't need to check into a hospital for free thoroughness. There are a lot of ways you can get the precision you need without using up emergency thoroughness lines.
If you already have a doctor you are seeing tell him/her your problem, he/she will probable verbs to see you for free, and always ask for samples! Reps love to hand over the doctors office samples.
If your doctor won't verbs to see you... well he/she must suck anyway. Apply for state aid, in California its call Medi-Cal I think it is Medi Caid in other states. If you are surrounded by bad state of health you can attain on SSDI then apply for Medi-care that will come with a monthly check to abet out too.
lilly.com has a program for free insulin, but like I other say get the free sample from the doctors office.
There are in every community free clinics, appointment your local hospital for more information on where they are, sometimes they are right in the hospital.
PS they are not purely for diabetic's but for all medically in have need of people
In California, which is where I am , I know this 1st appendage. I did not have ins., I applied for Medi Cal, and after 2 years of being rotten on Diasability I received Medi Care, the premium for my Medi Care is paid for by my Medi Cal. Meds were much better salaried for my Medi Cal Only, now this year in 2006 Medi Care have taken over the meds part and it is not as good. I am getting my meds, but enjoy had to change a few of them and have to have my doctor order tars to bring approval for some that Medi Care didn't want to cover. Go to your local Social Security office they also can help you nearby. Good luck! Source(s): ME
