Where can I attain free/insurance-covered treatment within NY?
I've grown up with a lot of issues that I haven't really have the chance/opportunity/ability to deal with. Not to win into specifics, but I feel these things have slowly started to deteriorate my relationships near family and friends. I'm getting pretty scared right very soon because starting next summer, I"ll be heading to another state for grad school for a pretty long time. It's pretty plausible I'll be setting roots down there..and I dont wanna start off on a fruitless foot. I know it's pretty unrealistic of me to think I can deal beside everything in just for a time over 7 months, but I'd like to have a devout start..
I live in NY and I'm covered through HIP..does anyone know of any low-cost/free therapy providers within the area? I'd be willing to travel..and I realize this is the internet and adjectives, but I'd appreciate any assistance with this.
Thanks
Answers:
Call HIP and find out your mental-health benefits. They may allow you a certain number of visit with a preferred provider at just a copay, or some other traffic. They may pay it in full for a specific number of visit if you choose a psychologist over a psychiatrist (one prescribes medication, the other doesn't) or a if you see a CSW (certified social worker who is a therapist). If you have crappy mental-health coverage (NY mandates adjectives insurers to cover mental-health treatments thanks to Timmy's law, and since you enjoy HIP, I assume you live in NY because that's where it's base.) then contact your local health department and see if there's a clinic you can see a consultant at. You can check your possible healthcare plans in internet, for example here - healthplans.my-age.network
It is affordable and has good coverage for such issues.
